Eintracht Frankfurt secured their place in the Bundesliga season by defeating VfL Bochum 2-1 on Saturday evening at the Allianz Arena.
The victory came after a thrilling match that saw Eintracht Frankfurt take control from the outset and dominate possession throughout the game.
In the first half, Eintracht Frankfurt dominated possession with 55% of the ball compared to just 45% for VfL Bochum. They were able to create several chances but failed to convert them into goals.
However, in the second half, Eintracht Frankfurt found the back of the net twice to secure the victory. In the 68th minute, they scored through a well-worked goal from Benjamin Pavard. Then, in the 79th minute, they doubled their lead when Marco Reus played in Leon Goretzka for his second goal of the match.
VfL Bochum, on the other hand, struggled to keep up with Eintracht Frankfurt's attacking pressure and failed to create many scoring opportunities themselves.
The result means that Eintracht Frankfurt now have 38 points in the table, which is two points behind leaders Bayern Munich. This puts them in a strong position to avoid relegation if they continue to perform well in the remaining matches of the season.
The win also gives Eintracht Frankfurt a boost in their relegation hopes as they can now focus on securing a top-four finish in the league. With only three more games left to play, Eintracht Frankfurt will need to be at their best to ensure they stay in the top flight.
